Celebrating our 2024 Open Experience

The CrossFit Open, which ran from February 29th to March 17th,  brought athletes from around the globe together, challenging them to surpass their previous achievements and embrace the spirit of global competition through community and camaraderie.

While it can be tempting to compare our performance to our friends and peers, everyone in our community really shone by tuning into their own needs and chasing their personal goals—whether that was achieving a new skill, or focusing on health and fun. This year’s unique challenges provided us with many valuable lessons that we're eager to integrate into our training.

Here's to keeping the spirit of our CrossFit Open 2024 journey alive by continuing to stand together, support each other, and celebrate the incredible strength we've witnessed in our MLA community.

Community Wins

Looking back on the CrossFit Open 2024, there were some highlights and learnings that really stood out to us:

  • The gym tours at Motion, The Yard, and Shapesmiths not only challenged us, but emphasised the incredible energy and friendships within our community.

  • Many of you really pushed past your limits and showed some excellent growth this year—like Emma Louise Pudge who mastered her double-unders in 24.2, then gave it a second go to hit her target number of rounds. 

  • We were inspired by newcomers like Danny Pallett, Leigh Carey, and Jane Holmes who dove into their first Open and gave it their all.

  • Many of you really focused on tuning in to what was best for you and your bodies this year, like Liz Marshland who scaled back her deadlift to focus on body health and having fun.

  • Coach Flo, who completed her 5th Open, shared her insights on the inclusivity and camaraderie of the latest workouts, and the important role of metabolic conditioning.

  • Amanda Brown and Jane Holmes shared their Open stories with us here, highlighting the value of facing challenges, personal growth, and community support in overcoming fears and achieving goals.

Cheers to everyone who took part! Watching everyone come together, cheer each other on and hit new milestones was seriously inspiring.
