HIKE THE FRENCH ALPS AND RESET AT ALTITUDE

You’re juggling a lot of responsibilities, and you’re looking to get away for rest, headspace and perspective. You‘re drawn to physical activities and your favourite breaks involve time in nature.

We’ve designed an epic 6-day summer adventure at the foot of Mont Blanc, for you to experience jaw-dropping beauty in the French Alps, challenge yourself, recover properly and relax in great company.

WHO YOU’LL MEET ON RETREAT

Our Chamonix Retreat attracts curious, active, adventurous travellers, lovers of mountains and trails, and those who simply need to get away from routine.

Most guests arrive feeling mentally busy, stretched, overworked, in “doing mode”, needing fresh air and movement.

They are looking to move consistently - but not with intensity - enjoy breathtaking views and spend time together in a small group.

Our guests are typically between 30 and 60 years old and there is no upper age limit.

A moderate level of fitness is required as most hikes take several hours and include long uphill parts. We take regular breaks and stop to enjoy the views.

Chamonix - A constantly varied playground

With the dramatic peaks of the Mont Blanc massif towering over it, Chamonix is the birthplace of modern mountaineering, and a world-class destination for all outdoor enthusiasts. Every summer it is the home of the Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) and a haven for hikers, climbers and trail runners from around the world.

In the colder months, it transforms into a mecca for winter sports, among others, climbing, alpine skiing, ski touring and backcountry. Home of the first Winter Olympics in 1924, of the Mer de Glace and of the oldest and largest mountain guide union in the world, it remains a centre of excellence for mountain activities.

Culturally, you’ll find yourself amongst lovers of trails from around the world mixing in the beautiful town streets as well as further up on the trails.

Expect a hefty dose of inspiration, a shot of adrenaline and a good helping of alpine hospitality.

BOOK YOUR PLACE

Adventure WITH US IN Chamonix

Prepare to surprise yourself with a new adventure daily. We work with expert local guides to always keep you in safe hands while helping you push your limits and have a daily sense of achievement..

Daily Alpine Hiking

Each day we’ll take on one of the most scenic hikes in the area, through rocky and forest terrain, and make the most of the lunch spots along the trails. We have selected a variety of distances and styles, including the Grands Balcons, Lac Blanc and Brévent.

Daily Yoga

Breathe, stretch, and reconnect with your body  with small group yoga sessions led by our host Rachel.

An ideal complementary activity to hiking, yin yoga is a  slow, meditative practice where poses are held for several minutes to target deep connective tissues, fascia, and joints. It will help us recover from the day by reducing muscle soreness, improving circulation and promoting better sleep.

A new perspective from +3842m

Taking the cable car to the Aiguille du Midi is a must for a visitor to the Chamonix Valley. At 3842m, this carefully designed destination offers jaw-dropping views of the Vallée Blanche, Mont Blanc, the Glacier des Bossons, and an almost birds-eye view of the Chamonix Valley. On a clear day you can even see the Matterhorn. Above all, it provides an education in the recent history of mountaineering and a test of breathing at high altitude!

Challenge yourself with coached rock-climbing

We’ll spend a few hours scaling the vertical rock faces of the stunning area of Les Gaillands, with our expert local coaches. Expect to add to your skills, gain confidence and cheer your friends as they cheer you on. The routes will be tailored to the level of our group.

WHERE YOU’LL STAY

Quiet, secluded, a short walk from the centre of Chamonix, and surrounded by breathtaking peaks, our retreat home is an elegant Alpine chalet blending traditional charm and modern comfort.

Arranged over 3 floors with spacious indoor and outdoor areas, it will be a sanctuary for our group; a place to rest and reflect, and immerse yourself in the magic of the mountains. Here’s what you’ll find:

  • Six thoughtfully designed bedrooms, with private or shared bathrooms. You can book one solo or to share it with a friend or partner. (Unless you select a shared room, we will not book you into one.)

  • Spacious cosy areas indoors for us to gather: the indoor lounge with a corner fireplace, the dining area for meals, the separate entertainment room for relaxing.

  • A garden with an outdoor pool and hot tub for unwinding overlooking the mountains after a day of movement, and a terrace for alfresco meals.

Exclusive Hire

The entire chalet is reserved just for our group, ensuring privacy and a personalised experience.

Unplugging

Although there is good WiFi throughout the chalet, we encourage you to go offline for the duration of the retreat.

MEALS & NUTRITION

We will fuel our adventures with hearty, delicious meals that celebrate the best of Haute Savoie cuisine. Mealtimes are for us to get together to refuel, connect and taste local flavours of the French Alps.

We work closely with nutritionist Sinead Roberts to plan your retreat nutrition and you will receive a nutrition guide upon booking with guidelines for meal structure and selection.

Breakfast

We have planned a mix of buffet style breakfasts in the comfort of our chalet and heading out to our favourite local cafés.

Lunch

Each day, we will have a packed picnic lunch, either mid-hike or on location. Expect the freshest local ingredients and unforgettable views.

Dinner

Evenings are all about relaxing and sharing stories from the day while eating delicious local food at our favourite Chamonix eateries.

Dietary Requirements

We cater to all allergies and dietary requirements. Once we have confirmed your booking, we send out a detailed booking form where you can let us know.

Meal Costs

All meals are included in your Chamonix Hiking Retreat package. Alcohol is not included; we ask guests to cover this separately at restaurants. We kindly ask guests not to bring alcohol back to the accommodation with them.

YOUR TEAM

Rach Lingham profile picture

RACHEL LINGHAM

Rach has spent years creating everything from large-scale cultural gatherings to intimate retreats — spaces that connect people, spark ideas and leave room to breathe.

A long-time student and teacher of yoga, her work is shaped by the same principles she finds in practice — awareness, flow and connection. Whether planning a retreat or bringing together artists and speakers for an event, she cares about how things feel as much as how they run.

Rooted in yoga, fitness and time outdoors, her approach is all about balance; between stillness and adventure, work and rest, ocean and city.

Stella Kamba profile picture

STELLA KAMBA

Stella founded More Life Adventures, after working as an architect and personal trainer, to help people recover from the stress of modern living. As a child she spent her summers in the Alps, climbing, hiking, swimming in the lakes, laughing, and making friends for life. She can’t wait to take you back there for a week of adventuring together in nature.

nuyama - the outdoor soul

Nuyama is our Guide company in Chamonix. Founded by Yann Delevaux after 20 years of experience at Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix, they are dedicated to sharing the great outdoors with guests and helping them make the most out of their time on the mountains.

They will be guiding us on our hikes and at our rock climbing session, offering unparalleled support and insights.

CHAMONIX HIKING & YOGA RETREAT ITINERARY

  • Touch down in Geneva and meet our group at the arrivals area. Join our group transfer as we make our way to Chamonix through the mountains. Upon arrival, you’ll check in, settle into your room, explore the chalet and in the peaceful surroundings.

We’ll come together for a gentle yoga session in the afternoon, designed to unwind travel stiffness and ease you into the rhythm of the week. Afterwards, there’s time to relax by the pool or hot tub before we head into town to get our bearings, get some supplies for the week and have our first dinner together, marking the start of our shared alpine adventure.

  • We’ll begin the day with a buffet-style breakfast before heading out to tackle one of Chamonix’s most iconic hikes. The Lac Blanc trail offers a huge variety of expansive views with time to pause, take photos, and fully absorb the scale of the landscape.

We’ll sit down for a picnic lunch on the mountain, surrounded by dramatic peaks and open skies.  In the late afternoon, we’ll return to the chalet for a restorative yoga session, followed by time to relax by the pool or rest as you need.

In the evening, we head out for a delicious dinner in Chamonix, sharing stories from the trail!

  • Following breakfast, we head out on foot to Les Gaillands, a stunning landscape including forest, rock face and lake along the river Arve. We’ll meet our guides and spend the morning in a coached rock climbing session. Whether you’re new to climbing or have some experience, the routes will adapted to your level, focusing on building confidence and technique.

We’ll have our picnic lunch at the lake before we return on foot to Chamonix, where you can use the early afternoon for a spa visit at QC Terme or a browse around the beautiful crystal museum. In the late afternoon, yoga offers a chance to soften the body after a demanding day, with pool and relaxation time to follow.

We’ll head out for dinner in the evening, rounding out a full and varied day.

  • After breakfast, we set off for the Brévent hike, a stunning route offering panoramic views directly opposite Mont Blanc. The terrain is varied and engaging, making for a rewarding day of movement and exploration.

We’ll stop for lunch on the mountain, giving space to refuel and enjoy the setting before continuing the hike. Back at the chalet, the late afternoon brings yoga to stretch tired legs and restore balance, followed by pool or relaxation time.

We will gather again for dinner - keeping the evenings social and relaxed.

  • We start with breakfast before heading towards the Aiguille du Midi for an incredible experience at +3850m. Expect endless views, a climbing museum, a hypoxic chamber and direct views to Mont Blanc, the Bossons Glacier, the Vallee Blanche, and perhaps also the Matterhorn. On the way down, we will stop at the middle station, where our hike will begin.

Picnic lunch will be provided on the mountain, allowing us to stay immersed in the landscape without rushing. Later, we return to the chalet for our final yoga session of the retreat, followed by time to rest, swim, or simply take it all in.

Our final dinner together is a chance to celebrate the week and reflect on the experiences shared.

  • Wake up, have a final dip in the pool, pack, and join our celebratory breakfast around the long table where we recap the week. We check out of the chalet by 10:30am.

Our group transfer will carry you back with tired legs, clear minds, fresh perspectives, loads of inspiration, new friendships and new memories shaped by movement, nature, and connection in the mountains.

Responsible Travel

Travel gives us the privilege of exploring beautiful places, connecting with local communities, and spending meaningful time in nature. It also comes with responsibility.

As a B Corp, we design our retreats to minimise unnecessary impact while maximising positive contribution. By reducing waste, supporting local businesses, and making considered choices together, we can help protect the places we visit and ensure they continue to thrive.

During our time together in Chamonix, we will:

  • Travel using group transfers

  • Actively reduce single-use plastic

  • Ask guests to be mindful of energy and water use

  • Leave no rubbish behind; on trails, beaches, or at our accommodation

Travelling to Geneva:

Depending on how much time you have, we will help you book one of these options to Geneva:

  • Fly:  Air travel is worth making the most of. If you'd like to arrive early or leave late and make a longer journey out of it, we can also provide guidance on what to do in the area.

  • Take the train. You will travel through beautiful scenery, arrive straight in the centre of town and cut your carbon emissions to 1/10th. While train travel is more expensive, if it’s an option for you, we highly recommend it.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’d like to do more than hiking, we will have mountain biking options for you to choose from.
