A WEEKEND ESCAPE IN SNOWDONIA

Pack your bags for an unforgettable weekend in the breathtaking Welsh countryside at the foot of Snowdonia National Park! Together, we’ll hike and summit Mount Snowdon, laugh, play games, eat delicious food and breathe in the fresh mountain air.

If your weekdays are spent navigating the hustle of city life, this is your chance to recharge, reconnect with nature, and bond with like-minded people. Whether you’ve always dreamed of summiting a mountain or simply want a fun, active escape with new friends, this is for you. Read on to find out more!

IS THIS FOR ME?

This weekend is for adventurers, hikers, outdoorsy people looking to take on some challenging hikes, enjoy some breathtaking views, and enjoy the mountain air. A moderate level of fitness is required as we are summiting a mountain and the last third of the climb is quite challenging. But please don’t be discouraged as we will be going at a steady pace and taking regular breaks and the journey down is wonderful!

ITINERARY

  • You’ll arrive at Llandudno Junction station where you’ll be picked up and taken to our accommodation. We’ll let you settle in and then venture out to nearby Capel Curig for a long walk and a hearty dinner. We’ll head back to our accommodation for some games and a stretch before bedtime.

  • We start with an early breakfast and then catch the bus to the base of Snowdon.

We’ll then take a well-known path up Mount Snowdon and enjoy the view from the top, where we will stop for a picnic lunch. The hike will take 6-7 hours in total.

On the way down we can jump in to cool off in a beautiful freshwater lake.

After the hike, we head to a local tea room for celebratory tea and cakes, and then head back to our accomodation for a well-deserved rest, and dinner in front of the fire.

Join in with some group games or relax before turning in.

  • We’ll venture out for a walk before breakfast to make the most of the day. We’ll then have coffee and pack our bags for a 10am checkout.

We will head to Betws-y-Coed for a farewell brunch together, and then transfer to Llandudno Junction to catch our trains.

AccomModation

We will be staying at Plas Y Brenin Outdoor Adventure Centre, the UK’s leading outdoor adventure centre with comfortable modern accommodation, nestled in the foot of mount Snowdon, on the edge of the historic mountain village of Capel Curig. We will have two stunning lakes on our doorstep and the opportunity to walk, swim or simply enjoy the stunning views.

You can choose to book your own private room, or share a twin room with a friend or partner. The twin rooms can also be reserved for single occupancy if you prefer extra space. Each room comes with an ensuite bathroom.

We’ll gather together in the main restaurant to relax, play games, enjoy freshly made breakfast, and Saturday dinner. The accommodation has access to a physio and massage therapist so you can book this as at an extra cost if you so wish.

Meals

Our meals will be fresh, homemade, locally sourced as much as possible and delicious. They will be balanced to support a weekend of activity and recovery.

We will have breakfasts together at our accommodation on Saturday and Sunday. We will pack a picnic lunch on Saturday to fuel us for the hike and go for brunch on Sunday. Dinners will be hearty meals at our accommodation in Plas Y Brenin and a well-loved pub in Capel Curig. Expect lots of protein, fresh vegetables and hearty carbs to fuel and satisfy you for an active weekend.

We plan our meals with our activities in mind, so you are always well-fuelled. Portions are generous! We also encourage you to bring your own favourite snacks.
