The seed for More Life Adventures was planted in my childhood camp trips. I made friends from all over the world, used my body to climb, hike, ski and swim, and found joy and appreciation for travel, nature, sports and a multicultural community.
After university, I spent a decade in commercial architecture in London. I rarely took meaningful breaks, had frequent bouts of burnout, and often felt like I was gasping for air.
Looking for answers, I turned to journaling, training, walking in nature outside and spirituality. I realised these things helped me, so after 10 years in architecture, I made a bold move and retrained as a personal trainer, with a mission to help others rediscover their confidence, purpose, and joy—just as I had.
While personal training, and with the experience of my own burnouts, I witnessed firsthand that we can train hard, but if we do not recover in proportion to our training, we don’t get fitter and stronger; we are only getting more tired. That in order to get to our fitness goals (or any goals) we need to rebalance work and rest. That there are many types of rest and that the city doesn’t quite allow the nervous system to calm down fully. And finally that rest is key to living a healthier and more conscious life.
I knew I could offer a fuller package that included both training and recovery, so I set out to run a fitness retreat to look after clients, friends, and friends of friends for a full week, rather than hourly slots at the gym.
A few retreats later I realised had found the recipe for a residential experience where adults could rest, train, find joy and get perspective on life.
In 2018 losing my father made me more determined, and in 2020 Covid made it essential for me to start building a team.
That’s how More Life Adventures was born. Combining training, adventure, nature and connection, we help busy people establish a cycle of healthy recovery from the rhythms of daily life. We do this through challenges, shared living and time in nature. Whether it’s hiking a mountain, trying a new sport or sharing a meal under the stars, these experiences allow us to grow and live more fully .
I hope you’ll join us and experience it for yourself!
