What to expect
It’s time to escape the distractions and focus on you – our Weightlifting Weekend is designed to deliver four days of distraction-free, immersive training for you to become your best and strongest self. MLA is partnering with Mike Cerbus, coach and director of clinics at Power Monkey Fitness, to bring you thoughtful, individualised training, including guided lifting sessions, active recovery in green and blue scenery and plenty of delicious food.
Training
Unlike a rushed weekend seminar which can tend to overload us with information, we will have four days of thoughtful practice, small group discussion and individualised learning. If you are a seasoned weightlifter, this is a chance to hone your technique, and if you are a beginner, this will be a unique opportunity to set proper foundations.
We will be based at CrossFit Pi for a few hours each day, but you will have the opportunity to carry on the training conversations outside the gym, at home and in nature. We have designed this weekend for you to make the most of your time with Mike and his willingness to answer your questions and meet your needs.

Exploring
When you’re in a UNESCO Heritage site, you explore it. Luckily, we believe that what we do outside of the gym is just as important for building strong bodies and mental confidence, and essential for re-couping after your lessons. You’ll have the chance to jump in the sea for a morning swim, paddleboard on the water, hike around the Bystock Pools, along the beachfront and through the National Park.
Accommodation and Food
The Georgian home that is Watch Hill Manor is the perfect place to sprawl out and journal in your king-sized room or debrief with the group in the spacious lounge. We’ll be making good use of the hot tub and grounds, as well as exploring the local pubs for dinner and drinks. For breakfast and lunches around your training sessions, you’ll be fuelled by chef Harriet Haines with delicious, high-protein, tasteful meals.

We will advise you on which flights to book so that we all arrive at a similar time. We will pick you up from the airport on arrival and drop you off there on your departure.

Everyone from 21 years of age is welcome and we have no upper age limit. We’ve had guests in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. We love to see people of all ages on our trips.

When it comes to our training, we keep our groups small so you will get a lot of attention. You also have the option of 1:1 coaching during free time.
