BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE FOR COMPETITIVE FITNESS
Do you love that feeling of giving it your all in a workout? Perhaps you have set your sights on entering a competition in the future?
Our Training Camp with Kelly Friel is designed to challenge you and prepare you for competition.
Over the course of a long weekend, we will bring out the strongest version of yourself, both mentally and physically. Whether you are training for your next fitness competition or challenging yourself for a new PB, we’ll coach, nourish and support you to get where you want to be.
Our Training Camp is for all levels of fitness.
about coach kelly friel
Kelly Friel is one of the most decorated CrossFit athletes in the UK. Since her debut at the Regionals in 2013, she has brought home silver medals from the CrossFit Games in 2018 and 2019 and was crowned Fittest Master athlete in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Alongside her competitive career, she is a mother, wife, co-owner and coach at CrossFit Southampton.
Kelly has a talent for creating a supportive, relaxed and fun environment where you feel encouraged to thrive.
We’re delighted to have Kelly as your coach and in our community and we can’t wait for her to coach you.
IS THIS FOR ME?
Our Training Camp is for everyone willing to push themselves and enter a competitive environment. All levels of fitness are welcome. You do not need to have entered a competition in the past, or have one planned in the future.
Mindset is a key part of training. If you think your mindset is keeping you from reaching your goals, this weekend can help: you will be able to discuss where you got stuck mentally and physically in the workouts and get pointers on moving forward.
We will share a beautiful beachside house for the weekend. Join us for a team experience - enjoying meal times together and sharing communal spaces.
WHAT TO EXPECT
TRAIN
Over the weekend you will work on all the skills that regularly come up in functional fitness competitions and then practise those skills under fatigue in workouts. We will train at CrossFit Pi in Woodbury, a large and friendly gym with all the equipment you could ask for.
play
We believe in the magic of spending time with a small group of like-minded people away from our routine environment. To share stories, play games, laugh together and enjoy the moment. With good food, good spirits and fireside games, you will leave refreshed, recharged, with fun memories and stronger friendships.
RECOVER
We’re located a stone’s throw from Exmouth Beach, a stunning two-mile stretch of golden sand where we can walk, swim, play games and breathe fresh seaside air. Our accommodation also has a seasonally heated outdoor pool and a hot tub perfect for recovery after working out.
ITINERARY
-
We’ll pick you up at Exeter St David’s station and take you to our accommodation. After settling in, we will begin with some intention- setting to make sure you get the most out of camp. We’ll get stuck into our first training session outdoors, and afterwards have some free time to settle and unwind, before ending the day with dinner and an evening stretch.
-
We will start the day with breakfast together and an outdoor workout to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. Lunch will be at the gym, and once everyone is fuelled and recovered, we will continue our day with gymnastics skills and a gymnastics-focused workout. We’ll snack up and enjoy a short rest before diving into some weightlifting technique training. In the evening, we will indulge in a delicious homemade dinner, and a Q&A with Kelly.
-
Fuel up with breakfast for another full morning of training where Kelly will take you through a skills-based class before putting you through your paces with a team workout. There will be a snack and rest break in between sessions. We’ll head to a local pub for lunch and then take a relaxing walk along the beach back to the house. You’re free to spend the afternoon as you wish, until we have dinner and play some games together.
-
Come together for our farewell breakfast and checkout. Plan for your trains to depart after 11:00 from Exeter St. David’s; we will arrange the transfers and get you there in plenty of time.
ACCOMMODATION
We will be staying at the stunning Beach House in Exmouth, a short walk away from Exmouth beach.
We have a mix of double and twin bedrooms, some of them ensuite, and you can book your own or share it with a friend or partner.

MEALS
Fuelling up with nutritious meals is key when you’re prepping to be your strongest self.

Words from our guests
★★★★★
“When I came to camp I said one of my main goals was to get comfortable with the assault runner, which I’d never used before… Fast forward a month after the retreat and I’ve just completed a Driathlon, running on the assault runner in the final 2hr leg of the 6hr competition”
★★★★★
“I have come away with so many achievements, more than I thought were possible! Aoife was absolutely fantastic in her preparation and there was always a skill or something for people to work on depending on their specific goals”
★★★★★
“It was my first fitness retreat experience and it was a great trip! The coaching and training session were the highlights but also having the opportunity to be outside and explore Devon was truly unique. Highly recommended!”
