Health and Fitness

Upon booking, we ask you to fill out a health and fitness questionnaire to ensure that it is safe for you to take part in the holiday and to help us cater for your requirements.

Please note that depending on the details you have provided us with, we may ask you for additional details from your coach and / or GP at least 6 weeks prior to departure, before we can confirm your booking. If further to this information there is a medical reason for us to deny your booking, and provided you have sent us this information at least 6 weeks before the holiday, you will be refunded in full as soon as possible. If we receive the information less than 6 weeks before departure, we reserve the right to apply the cancellation fees detailed below.

We assume that guests have a substantial level of physical fitness. You should be able to run a mile, swim 25m and lift 20kg from the ground to your shoulders.

Passports and Visas

It’s your responsibility to make sure you have valid travel documents (e.g. passport, Visa) and a minimum of six months left on your passport. It is your responsibility to take out appropriate travel insurance.

Travel Insurance and Medical Emergencies

Please provide us with proof of your travel insurance at least a week before the start of the holiday.

Your travel insurance should provide cover for medical emergencies, such as illness or injury while you are away with a recommended minimum coverage of £2,000,000 for each of the categories of cover. It should cover you for exercise on land, water-sports such as swimming, water-ski, jet-ski and paddle-boarding. It should also cover cancellation, curtailment, personal liability and loss of luggage and personal effects. We cannot be responsible for any costs you incur as a result of failing to take out adequate travel insurance.

If you are a national of an EC country you should take your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) available from main Post Offices or online at nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/healthcare-abroad/.

Please ensure that you follow all medical advice in relation to your holiday. If you need professional medical care whilst on a holiday, we will try to obtain it and inform your travel insurers as quickly as possible. You agree to repay to us all costs we incur in providing this assistance, including payment for any transport and telephone calls. We will provide you with details on your return, for you to pass to your travel insurers.

Booking process

The named person on the confirmation invoice must be at least 18 years old at the time of booking.

You are required to pay a non-refundable deposit of £150 per person per trip for your booking to be confirmed. We will let you know that last date for payment after we have confirmed our acceptance of your booking. If your booking is made within 6 weeks of the departure date then the full amount should be paid at the time of booking. If we have not received your payment before the last date for payment, we reserve the right to treat your booking as cancelled.

Once you have booked we will issue a confirmation invoice setting out the travel details and price. Please check the details on your confirmation invoice carefully. If you have any questions, or anything does not appear to be right, please contact us immediately.

If we are unable to accept your booking, we will return your payment to you immediately.

Approximately 5 before the start date, we will send you a pack of information relating to your holiday. This information will include:

  • Location of meeting point and time of meeting;

  • Climate information;

  • Suggested packing list;

  • Important details relevant to our day trips and activities.

As soon as you are able, please book your own flights to and from Heraklion airport, in order to get the lowest possible price.

Changes and cancellations by you

If circumstances force you to leave the holiday early, you will have to cover any additional transfer costs.

If for whatever reason you need to cancel your booking, please send your request by email to the contact on our confirmation invoice. We will make every effort to transfer the money you have paid, to another More Life Adventures holiday. If we are unable to do so, or you would prefer us not to, the cancellation charges shown below apply from the date we receive your cancellation instruction:

Cancellation charges are as follows:

  • Up to 6 weeks prior to the holiday: we keep the deposit.

  • Between 4 and 6 weeks prior to the holiday: we keep 50% of the holiday cost.

  • Less than 4 weeks prior to the holiday: we keep 100% of the holiday cost.

If there is a flight delay or cancellation, please let us know as soon as possible so that further arrangements can be made, where necessary, at an extra cost.

Changes and cancellations by us

As we say on our holiday website, a minimum number of 5 participants are required in order for a holiday to be viable. In the unusual event that we cancel a holiday, you can choose to accept either an alternative holiday (paying or receiving a refund/credit in respect of any price difference) or a full refund of all money paid. In certain cases we may pay compensation too, at our discretion.

The prices given on our website are calculated at costs current at the time we fixed them. If supplier costs or taxes rise or adverse currency exchange rates apply, you agree that we may increase prices at any time to a maximum of 5% of the advertised cost of the holiday, no less than six weeks before the departure date.

We are not liable for loss of or damage to your holiday when unusual and unforeseeable circumstances arise which are beyond our control, the consequences of which we could not have avoided even with all due care

Payment Protection

In order to comply with the Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package holidays Regulations 1992, all payments received by us will be held in a trust account until the completion of the holiday.

Accommodation will be in twin or double bedrooms. Please note:

  • We reserve the right to change accommodation to that stated on our website.

  • Single occupancy twin or double bedrooms are available at an extra cost as stated on our website,  as long as they are available at the time of your booking.

  • Rooms vary a little in size but have the same specification: one bathroom to each room, storage, air conditioning, blackout shutters, wifi, bedlinen, two towels per person and hand-wash are provided. Please note beach towels and toiletries are not provided.

Customer Behaviour

In the interests of improving your health and fitness levels, please note that smoking is not permitted on our holidays. Alcohol is available in moderation at dinnertime. Excessive alcohol consumption is actively discouraged.

We want all our customers to have a carefree holiday and we are all therefore responsible for the effect our actions may have on others. If we believe your actions could

  • Upset or disturb other guests, suppliers or our own staff

  • Put our guests, suppliers or staff in any risk or danger

  • Cause accident or injury to any other guest

  • Cause damage to property

We may exclude you from the remainder of the holiday with no refund or compensation.  This is an extreme measure that will only be taken in order to protect the health, safety or enjoyment of other guests.

Please report any accidents or damages to our staff as soon as possible. You must pay for any damage caused to the accommodation, furniture, fixtures, fittings or any other items within or around the accommodation. Failure to pay may result in liability for any legal costs incurred in pursuing a claim.

Acceptance of Risk

By taking part in the holiday, you accept that all our activities involve a degree of personal risk and you are responsible for your own actions. Your booking is accepted by us on the basis that you understand and accept the risks involved in such activities.

Your safety is of primary importance to us in our coaching; however it is your responsibility to follow our coaching guidance during workouts and activities. We are not liable to you for any injury, loss or death caused during any of the activities we planned for you, if you did not follow safety instructions.

You are under no obligation to take part in or complete activities which form part of your holiday booking if for any reason you do not want to. Simply let your coach know if you do not wish to take part. If you are feeling unwell, please rest.

We will do our best to make your holiday very special. Nonetheless, we must make clear the limitations in law. We are not liable to you for:

  • Any event which happens before you board our transport at our meeting point or after you leave our transport at departure;

  • Any problem arising from your failure to reach the meeting point on time, for whatever reason; (although we will do our best to help you in any way we reasonably can)

  • Any aspect of goods or services you buy or accept other than those arranged by us;

  • Medical problems or physical difficulties, even if you have told us about them in advance;

  • Medical emergencies;

  • Your own carelessness or negligence in any aspect of your behaviour whilst with us;

  • Changes we reasonably make to an itinerary or to accommodation or any other aspect of the management of a holiday;

  • Problems or issues which we could have resolved whilst on a holiday but which you raise only after your return

  • Injury, illness, death, loss (including loss of enjoyment or possessions), damage, expense, cost or other sum or claim of any description whatsoever which results from either: your act or omission, or the act or omission of a third party not connected with the provision of your holiday.

  • Services we have not provided. The services and features included in your holiday are those specified in our website. If you choose to buy other goods or services during your holiday, those are not part of the package we provide, even if arranged at your request through our holiday leader. Accordingly we are not liable to you for any happening in connection with that service or those goods.

Force Majeure

Except where otherwise expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions we will not be liable or pay you compensation if our contractual obligations to you are affected by “Force Majeure”.

For the purposes of these Booking Conditions, Force Majeure means any event beyond our or our supplier’s control, the consequences of which could not have been avoided even if all reasonable measures had been taken. Examples include:

  • Warfare and acts of terrorism (and threat thereof)

  • Civil strife

  • Significant risks to human health such as the outbreak of serious disease at the travel destination or natural disasters such as floods

  • Unavoidable technical problems with transport

  • Air traffic control strikes

  • Flight cancellations

  • All similar events outside our control

Please note that certain Travel Arrangements may be affected as a result of the United Kingdom’s decision to leave the European Union. This could include an unavailability of certain flight routes, access to certain ports and airports and changes to the visa requirements of British citizens travelling to, within or through the EU.  Please rest assured that this is something we will continue to monitor and will advise our customers as soon as possible if we become aware of any confirmed bookings that will be affected. However, since this is something which is completely unprecedented and outside our control, we would treat any such changes as Force Majeure, and whilst we will endeavour to provide suitable alternative arrangements or refunds where possible, we will not be liable to pay you any compensation.

Personal Property

Please ensure that any valuable equipment is covered either in your travel policy or your home contents policy. We cannot take responsibility for potential loss of or damage to your belongings, however we will do our best to ensure it does not happen.

You will be given a key to your room, your house and the entrance to the Villa. You are responsible for locking your room, house and the Villa when leaving it, as we cannot guarantee the safety of your belongings if the houses are left unlocked. Please take care not to lose any of these keys as you will be charged €50 for a replacement of any or all of them.

Where we are found liable for loss of and/or damage to any luggage or personal possessions (including money) where international convention or regulation does not apply, the maximum amount of compensation we will pay you is £500.

Other than as set out above, we have no legal liability to you for any loss of or damage to your personal property.

We aim to offer the best holiday we can, but if we fail in any way, do please raise any issue with your holiday host or coach  immediately so that we can do our best to resolve it. If your complaint cannot be satisfied right away, or is not dealt with to your satisfaction at the time of reporting it to your host or coach, please give us full details by email, immediately on your return.
