WHAT TO EXPECT

THE AREA
Epping Forest is the largest open space in London at just over 6,000 acres, stretching from Manor Park in east London to just north of Epping in Essex. It’s a haven for wildlife, offering open grasslands, majestic woodlands and deep ponds.As one of the earliest protected landscapes in England, Epping Forest pre-dates the UK’s National Parks by nearly 80 years.

THE ROUTE
This route through Epping Forest offers a delightful journey starting at Earl's Path. Enjoy gentle inclines and dense woodland teeming with wildlife, leading to scenic clearings with city views. The highlight is the serene Wake Valley Pond, perfect for a peaceful break.

Start time: We will meet at 10:30am outside Loughton Underground station.
We will end at the same point.
Tickets: Free (dogs also welcome)
Difficulty: This is an easy hike, open to all fitness levels. Everyone is welcome!

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING WITH YOU
Wear comfy clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty.
Bring a small backpack with a waterproof jacket in case it rains, a snack and some water.
We are committed to looking after the planet so we recommend bringing your keep cup if you’d like a hot drink during the day.

Absolutely, we run the Adventure Club so you can meet new people while challenging yourself.

London weather can be unpredictable so prepare yourself for all weather conditions. We recommend wearing shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, and bringing a windbreaker or waterproof jacket.
