This is a perfect hike to enjoy with friends, relishing the stunning beauty of the Chiltern Hills, taking a leisurely lunch amidst the rolling countryside, and ending the day with a refreshing drink at a cozy local pub.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • THE HIKE

    The Chiltern Hills are known for their stunning views and diverse landscape, so we have planned a circular route in one of the best-loved parts of the area, starting and ending at Wendover Station.

    We will mainly take paths through forest and open countryside. Our route includes gentle hills and will suit anyone with a moderate level of fitness.

Start time: 10:00 AM outside Wendover Station

Distance: 12.7 km hike

Duration: Approximately 4-5 hours. (10am-2/3pm)

how to GET THERE

By Public Transport:

  • Train: Take a train from London Marylebone to Wendover Station on the Chiltern Railways line. (Roughly 45 minutes from Central London)

By Car:

  • Parking: There is parking available at Wendover Woods Car Park. (There is a small charger to use.) Use postcode HP22 5NQ for navigation.

We will end the hike with a refreshing drink. We are committed to leaving places better than we found them, so we recommend bringing your keep cups. :)

WHAT TO wear and bring

Bring a daypack/small rucksack with a reusable water bottle, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, and sun lotion), A snack or sandwich for along the way.

Wear comfortable clothes, a windproof layer and sturdy shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.

Frequently asked questions

  • This day hike is for anyone who wants to explore a forest at a comfortable pace and loves being in a small group environment.

  • This is a moderate level hike.

  • Absolutely, we run the Adventure Club so you can meet new people while challenging yourself.

  • We recommend having breakfast about an hour beforehand and bringing snacks and water with you.

  • UK weather can be unpredictable. Prepare yourself for all weather conditions. Although August may be warm, we recommend bringing a windbreaker or thin waterproof jacket, and sturdy shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy.

  • There is a toilet at the start and end. We will make sure to include toilet and rest breaks on the way so that everyone is comfortable!

  • You are welcome to bring your furry friends; please make sure they are on a leash and are comfortable around other dogs and people.

  • The event is free. We rely on booked guests turning up, but please let us know the day before if you can no longer make it.
